new edition to library not showing up
Forums
hey folks :)
really respect what this project accomplishes and have learned a lot from things across the library over the years. a couple days ago (Jan. 9th), I spent a couple hours editing an HTML of a document titled "White Supremacy Clture-- Still Here" by Tema Okun. I don't see it anywhere on new entries or when I search for it using various keywords. Just curious if I messed up somehow or if it's still being looked over.
cheers
Hi, Thank you for the kind…
Hi,
Thank you for the kind words and sorry for the confusion and time it took to respond to this. The text was submitted to the library queue successfully, but it was not published because it's not clear if this is an anarchist text. Is the writer an anarchist? Does the text mention anarchist stuff? For these reasons the text was not published, but I'm happy to chat more about it here if you would like.

hi, thanks for the response.
the text isn't explicitly anarchist but is a well articulated conception of white supremacy culture-- something that anarchists fight against. there are many important writings from black authors that don't always use the label "anarchist" but yet still practice anarchistic values. while this specific text may not be right for the library, i hope that the explicit use of the term anarchist isn't always a qualifier considering the long tradition of "anarchistic" practices in indigenous and black liberation tendencies.
regardless, after doing more research on the author, i definitely don't agree with some of the ways she approaches social change and the organizations that have used the essay are pretty liberal. i definitely understand if y'all don't want to publish it.
is there anyway one could privately access the file? i spent a lot of time formatting it so i could eventually download the zine version.
p.s. as for the other comment, i think it's pretty rude to compare a genuine attempt at articulating the complexity of white supremacy culture to Obama-- a sociopathic war criminal, sell out and traitor to working (and nonworking) poor people globally.

disregard my request for a private file-- i know y'all are busy and i can figure it out :)
This text is about as…
This text is about as anarchist as Obama's autobiography.
On a more serious note, when did people start thinking of anything vaguely leftist as somehow anarchist? Seems like a post-Trump thing
